Sauna Friend Sanctuary Supply is a family owned member-based sanctuary infrastructure service, founded and led by David Drimmel, and an integrated auxiliary of Bioharmony Collective, a mission-driven ministry. How we do it

Four decisions, made on your site.

Every one of them gets made before anything is ordered, and every one of them follows the ground you have rather than a catalog. Here is what we are deciding, and what we are deciding it on.

The full process, stage by stage

The wood, chosen for the weather

For Colorado exposure we point members toward thermally modified wood rather than cedar. It is more dimensionally stable and more rot resistant, and it handles high-altitude UV and freeze and thaw cycling better. Cedar is right for sheltered placement with maintenance.

A finish you are free to decline

Left unfinished, thermally modified wood silvers naturally and takes no harm from it. Many members choose exactly that. To hold the original brown tone, the Exterior Preservation Buildout applies Osmo 410 UV Protection Oil in a two coat treatment with a one year application warranty.

Heat sized to your room, never to a chart

The volume of the room, its glass area, its insulation, and the climate it stands in are what decide the heater. A chart that ignores any of those gets it wrong often enough to matter, so your specialist sizes it with your room during the consultation.

The ground, settled before anything is ordered

Pad, drainage, access, and the sight line from the house. An outdoor room wants a level base that drains, and what the electrical scope involves is assessed with a licensed electrician as part of the project. We coordinate, licensed trades perform.

Why this exists

Half a working life in transactional work is enough to teach you what it costs

Transactional work is efficient, and it is also forgettable. It optimizes for the moment money changes hands rather than for the years that follow. Sauna Friend was built the other way around, and everything about how the service is structured follows from that one decision.

The transactional model

A transaction, and then silence

A transaction is complete the moment the money moves. Everything after that is somebody else's problem: the pad that was never poured level, the electrical work nobody coordinated, the wood that met its first winter without protection. The seller is a website, and a website does not come back out to the property in year three.

The relational model

A relationship, measured in years

A relationship is not complete when the crate is opened. It is measured by whether the room still works after several seasons of heat and weather, and by whether the person who recommended it still picks up the phone. That is a slower way to work, and it is the reason this is a member-based service rather than a one-time transaction.

That is the universal truth underneath a sauna, and underneath this work. Restoration is not only a temperature. It begins the moment you stop living transactionally and start living relationally, with the people around you and with the people you rely on.

A note from our founder

David Drimmel, Founder

My goal is to help the world transition to regenerative wellness practices that hold communities together. I spent half my life in the corporate world, where the work was mostly transactional. I am shifting my focus toward the mission now, and I hope to one day open a Bioharmony Sanctuary of my own.

What I do today feels personal in a way that work rarely did. It gives me, and the members I serve, the peace of mind that this is going toward something greater. It feels bigger than me.

That is his own account of why the work matters to him. What he brings to a build is below.

The person who designs your build is the person who stands behind it.

David grew up in the building trades working alongside his father, and spent years as a carpentry and remodeling subcontractor before the sauna industry found him. He went on to spend three years with Clearlight, and PLH Products before that.

He has since guided thousands of sauna placements across North America: sold, delivered, and installed. His background in functional health, nutrition, and product development shapes how Sauna Friend operates, which is to source and build only what will still be serving people decades from now.

The work

What the work looks like

The sauna is the easy part.

The site, the power, the build, and the years that follow are the project. That is the part we handle.

We represent the member

Guidance stays unbiased because we answer to the member and the mission rather than to a quota or a single brand. When a brand is not the right answer for a site, we say so.

We handle the unlisted work

Site preparation, electrical coordination through licensed electricians, freight, skilled assembly, and climate-appropriate protection. The parts a national seller never mentions are the parts that decide the outcome.

We stay after the build

Heat and weather go to work on every sauna ever made. Something will eventually need attention. Long-term support is a stage of the service, not a courtesy.

We read the room. Your specialist walks the space with you, looks at placement, access, drainage, and grade, and talks through how you intend to use it. You leave knowing what fits, what will not, and what the whole project involves.
