Can you work with my existing patio or deck?

Often, once we have seen it. Level, drainage, and what the structure can carry are the questions, and they are answered on the walkthrough rather than guessed at.

How does site preparation differ in Colorado, Kansas City, and Southern California?

On the Colorado Front Range, freeze and thaw cycling means the base has to hold level through the cycle, and the wood has to stand up to high-altitude sun. In the Kansas City metro, humidity and clay soil make drainage and a stable base most of the conversation. In Southern California conditions are mild, placement becomes a design decision, and salt air matters near the coast.

How do you prepare a site for an outdoor sauna?

We read the ground before we choose the model: how water moves across the site, whether the surface is level and will stay level, and how the crates reach the spot on delivery day. The base, whether a pad, a deck platform, a paver base, or piers, is then chosen for the unit and the ground beneath it.

A sauna is a heavy, hot, wet object that sits outdoors for years. What it sits on decides how it ages. So we look at the ground before we look at the model: how water moves across the site, where it collects after a storm, whether the surface is level and will stay level, and how the crates reach the spot on delivery day without crossing something you care about.

Each of our markets pushes on this differently. Where the ground freezes and thaws, the base has to hold level through the cycle and the wood has to stand up to high-altitude sun. Where the soil is clay and the summers are humid, drainage and a stable base are most of the conversation. Where conditions are mild, placement becomes a design decision, and salt air matters near the coast.
